It seems that everyone is talking about blogs these days. There are thousands of legal blogs (or blawgs) alone, and new ones are born daily. These blogs are filled with valuable news and tips for the legal professional of every practice area and jurisdiction.
One of these is WisBlawg, offering legal research and Internet news & information with an emphasis on Wisconsin. Written by a reference librarian at the University of Wisconsin Law Library, WisBlawg reports on new Web research resources & technologies, legal research news, announcements of local workshops & events, and more.
Almost two years old, WisBlawg, from the University of Wisconsin Law Library might be considered a blawg "pioneer." It has developed a wide readership among Wisconsin's legal & business professionals including attorneys, judges, journalists, librarians, paralegals, and law school students and faculty. WisBlawg is also attracting readers nationwide and even internationally.
Some of the many comments we have received include:
- From a Wisconsin Court of Appeals judge: "Just found your blog and will be a regular reader"
- From an academic law library director: "We've been inspired by the WisBlawg and read it avidly"
- From one of the nation's top legal bloggers: "I tip my hat to [WisBlawg] because they are doing some amazing things."
WisBlawg has also been listed in the Wisconsin State Journal, the Wisconsin Lawyer, the Wisconsin Law Journal and many other legal blogs.
WisBlawg offers a RSS feed for those wishing to subscribe using a reader such as Bloglines. [For tips on using a RSS reader, see RSS: It's About Time.] Or, if you would prefer to receive updates via email, there is a subscription form at the bottom right of WisBlawg.
If you haven't read WisBlawg or jumped into the blawgosphere yet, there is no time like the present. Check it out!
