For Libraries: Wisconsin Libraries Say Cheese!

Now that you have spent time gathering fantastic photos of your library and its users and staff in action, it’s time to showcase those photos. Here are some ideas of what to do with them:

Share with the library

  1. Make posters or signs of the photos, and any accompanying stories or quotes/comments from your library users, and hang them up around the library.
  2. Make a slideshow of your photos on your Flickr account and have it play on a computer in a public place, such as the reference or circulation desk, or near the entrance.
  3. Use the photos or library users’ stories/comments in a fundraiser or in addition to a Friends’ book sale, if they have them.
  4. Make bookmarks with the photos and stories/comments.

Share with the library board

  1. Use any collected stories/comments from library users in your annual board report.
  2. Share results with your board, including any local press surrounding Wisconsin Librariries Say Cheese! at your library (such as collecting newspaper clippings, video, etc).

Share with the community

  1. Post the photos or slideshow on your library’s website.
  2. Seek permission to post the slideshow or individual photos, plus any other information or stories, on your town/city’s official website, if there is one.
  3. Take any collected stories/comments and photos and put in an email or print newsletter.
