UW Grad proves librarians need praise, not flak

In 1991, she arrived in Madison to study library and information services at UW-Madison, which was like grabbing a bat and joining the Yankees. Currently an associate professor at the School of Library and Information Studies at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada, Samek just received the first annual Library Journal Teaching Award, which recognizes excellence in educating the next generation of librarians.
