Viterbo University invites applications for a Circulation Supervisor for the Todd Wehr Memorial Library. This full-time, year-round, hourly position is part of the Circulation Department team. Responsibilities include providing circulation and interlibrary loan services, supervising student employees, and participating in library staff meetings and employee assembly. This position works Mondays through Fridays and is responsible for opening the library. This position reports directly to the Circulation Manager.

Responsibilities:

Main Desk:

Provides excellent customer service that reflects the Viterbo University value of hospitality.
Assists with basic circulation duties such as checking in/out materials, renewals, and faculty reserves.
Provides prompt interlibrary loan services to the Viterbo community and other libraries.
Assists in the management and maintenance of library technology.
Manages cash register revenue and related statistical information.
Answers questions within the scope of knowledge in absence of reference librarians and makes referrals to appropriate staff or departments.
Supervision:

Participates in hiring and training student employees.
Works with the Circulation team in supervising student employees to ensure quality student work.
Library Operations:

Directs library use data collection every semester and provides analysis of data gathered.
Assists with incoming donations, donation processing, and delivery to partner organizations.
Manages annual library inventory of the physical collection.
Monitors overdues and interlibrary loan matching.
Works with Outreach Librarian to create directional and informational signage for library services and social media.
Participates in library-wide projects with other staff members and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements: Baccalaureate Degree; dependability; strong customer service skills; supervisory experience; Microsoft Office proficiency; ability to effectively utilize multiple software applications. Must be authorized to work in the United States. Viterbo University is unable to sponsor or take over the sponsorship of the employment Visa.

Desired Requirements: Library experience, including familiarity of library resources and library management systems; ability to troubleshoot technology.

Physical Demands: Employee must have the following abilities in order to perform essential job duties. Reasonable accommodations may be made: Sit or stand for extended periods; manual dexterity to handle library materials; communicate effectively orally or in writing; work extensively in front of a computer screen; complete repetitive tasks quickly and efficiently; reach above shoulder heights, bend and lift; handle and push a fully-loaded book cart; rarely, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
