The North Shore Library in Glendale, WI seeks a creative and enthusiastic Youth Services Librarian with a passion for learning and collaboration.
This position works under the supervision of the Head of Youth Services. Main duties include developing and implementing a wide variety of children’s, teen, and family programs, organizing and maintaining children’s collections, and providing reference and reader’s advisory services to patrons of all ages.
This part-time position is 20-25 hours per week and includes regular evening and weekend hours. Flexibility in scheduling is occasionally needed for program coverage. Most hours are at the Children’s Reference desk, with occasional hours at the Adult Reference desk.
This position requires a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science. Beginning librarians and candidates nearing completion of their MLIS degree are encouraged to apply. Prior experience working in a children’s department is preferred.
Starting wage is $25.28 per hour.
