The City of Greenfield is accepting applications for the position of full-time Library Director for the Greenfield Public Library.

The Library Director is the leader and chief spokesperson for the Greenfield Public Library. The Library Director reports to and is accountable to the president of the board and the board of directors.

The Library Director’s primary responsibilities include strategic planning and implementation of the strategic initiatives through tactical actions. The responsibilities should be carried out in accordance with the directions provided by the board of directors and within established guidelines so that organizational, fundraising, budgetary, community relations and volunteer objectives are achieved.

Required Education/Training and Experience
Master of Library Science from an American Library Association- accredited institution. Five to seven years demonstrated successful public library experience.

Preferred Education/Training and Experience

Five to seven years management and supervisory experience as an assistant director or director of a public library. The Greenfield Public Library reserves the right to utilize equivalencies where deemed appropriate with regard to education and experience requirements and may consider combinations of education and experience likely to lead to success with essential duties and responsibilities.

Other Qualifications

Grade 1 Public Librarian Certification from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. Maintenance of required Certification through necessary coursework and/or qualifying continuing education.

Residency

Residence within 30 minutes of travel to the Greenfield Public Library being established and maintained during employment with the library preferred.

Salary is $70,000 - $100,000 per year as determined by the Library Board; including excellent benefits consistent with the City of Greenfield Non-Represented Employee Resolution.
