As an Integrated Library System/Information Technology (ILS/IT) Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the libraries’ technology infrastructure. Your primary responsibility will be to manage, maintain, and optimize the Integrated Library System, a critical software platform used to organize and manage the library's resources, catalog, circulation, and patron information.

This position requires a strong understanding of library operations, information technology, and excellent problem-solving skills.

This position requires: Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in Library Science, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required.

Adaptability and Problem-Solving: As technology in libraries continue to evolve, an ILS Information Technology Specialist needs to be adaptable and quick to learn. They should be adept at troubleshooting system issues, identifying root causes, and finding innovative solutions to ensure the smooth functioning of the ILS and associated technologies.

Customer Focus: Being customer-focused is crucial for an ILS Information Technology Specialist as they play a vital role in enhancing the user experience for both library staff and patrons. Understanding the needs of library users and providing prompt and efficient support contributes to a positive and satisfying library experience for all stakeholders.

Strong understanding of library operations, cataloging, and circulation procedures.

Proficiency in database management, SQL, and system integration concepts.

Effective communication skills to interact positively with library staff, patrons, and IT team members.

Familiarity with data privacy and security standards in a library setting.

Continuous learning mindset and willingness to stay updated with emerging technologies in the library domain.

Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.

The position offers a full-time starting salary of $60,000. Benefits package includes two weeks of vacation, one week of PTO/sick leave, health, life, and income continuation insurance, as well as Wisconsin retirement.
