East Troy Lions Public Library is looking for a Children's Librarian
Employment Opportunity: The East Troy Lions Public Library (ETLPL) is hiring a new, regular part-time Children’s Librarian. This person would work 26-29 hours a week year-round under the direct supervision of the Library Director to direct the activities of children services as well as assisting library patrons with the full range of services at the public service desk.
The ETPL is a full-service public library looking to a expand its Children’s Programming. Open 44 hours a week, the ETLPL serves the Village of East Troy and surrounding communities. East Troy is a friendly and vibrant village with a strong sense of community aided by several active business and civic groups. It is located about an hour southwest of Milwaukee and an hour southeast of Madison.
This is an hourly position with starting pay at $16.85-17.50 per hour with the expectation of a 26-29 hour work week. Hourly rate will be determined based on experience. Scheduling is fixed and may include some evening and Saturday hours. In addition, the library will offer a benefits package that includes long-term disability and life insurance coverage, a retirement plan through Wisconsin Retirement System, Paid Holidays (6 hours per holiday), Floating Holidays (6 hours per floating holiday), and Vacation (2 weeks initial) are prorated and equivalent to the average number of hours the employee is regularly scheduled to work per week.
Requirements: A Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent in substantial library experience and/or continuing education activities required. Candidates with significant early childhood experience rather than a library background may also be considered.
The selected candidate is subject to a background investigation and pre-employment drug screen.
