The Wisconsin Library Association acknowledges the current state of national unrest and stands with library workers and with the members of the communities we serve who are discriminated against and are subject to violence based on their race or ethnicity.  WLA endorses the statements from the Black Caucus of the American Library Association (BCALA) and the ALA Executive Board which condemns violence and racism towards Black people and all People of Color.

We acknowledge the responsibility that our community has to educate ourselves in order to instigate change in combating systemic racism within our society and urge all libraries to curate book lists and provide resources to aid in facilitating this process.  Let us stand together and support those who need it most.
